When choosing your oversight doctor, it's important to understand the requirements set forth by the Medical Council of NZ. These guidelines ensure that you receive legally compliant clinical oversight and can have confidence in the quality of care you receive.
For category 2 cosmetic procedures, the Medical Council requires that oversight be provided by a Doctor with the relevant medical scope. This means that only a Dermatologist, Plastic Surgeon, or an NZSCM accredited Doctor - someone who has undergone adequate training in the scope of cosmetic medicine - is qualified to provide legal oversight.
